Business Development Manager – Dispute Resolution practice group (f/m/x)

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a motivated and highly qualified business development manager (f/m/x) on a full-time basis in Vienna.

The successful candidate will be responsible for working collaboratively as part of the Global Business Development team for the Dispute Resolution (DR) practice group (incl. litigation, international arbitration, compliance/investigations, corporate crime, data/cyber and IP/patents).

While the role is global in its remit, there will be particular emphasis on helping develop the practice group’s objectives in Europe.

Your Tasks

Drawing on support from across the MBD function and the wider firm, the successful candidate will use their knowledge, skills and experience to:

  • Support DR practice group leaders on practice group client strategy and internal reporting
  • Use an excellent understanding of the specific challenges and opportunities for DR to anticipate revenue generating opportunities, and quickly generate client outreach with compelling collateral
  • Work with relevant partners and client teams to position our expertise on these opportunities and developments and deepen relationships with priority clients
  • Be a constant source of advice, expertise and coaching for all DR lawyers and MBD colleagues, such that they see you as the go-to person for business development initiatives and client insight
  • Support strategically important proposals and pitches effectively, including drafting practice-specific content

Your profile

  • 5+ years in a similar role within a professional services environment
  • Excellent understanding of the legal landscape and trends; preferably with a focus on Dispute Resolution
  • Excellent English and German skills at least on business fluent level; an additional European language will be an advantage
  • A degree preferably with a focus on economics, law or marketing
  • Excellent written, presentation and oral communications skills as well as extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Suite software
  • The ability to lead on key cross-border projects and think globally
  • Strong emotional intelligence, resilience and the ability to deal proactively with complexity, ambiguity and competing demands and tight deadlines

Depending on your specific qualifications and professional experience, a minimum gross annual salary of EUR 60,000, – is envisaged for this role. The final salary will be agreed upon at the offer stage.
